Spread The Vote is a nonprofit organization focused on making democracy work for people who face practical barriers to civic participation. Spread The Vote’s work is grounded in the belief that “participation should be possible for everyone,” especially for people who need support obtaining identification, understanding how and where to vote, or navigating voting rules.
Spread The Vote describes its role as bridging the gap between people and civic participation through direct support, voter education, and on-the-ground programs. Its work includes helping people secure IDs, providing trusted voter information, and increasing turnout among underserved communities.
Spread The Vote focuses on people who are eligible to participate but face barriers such as lack of photo ID, limited civic education, transportation challenges, childcare needs, low income, or incarceration-related obstacles. Spread The Vote’s programs are designed to address both voting-specific barriers and the broader life barriers connected to identification, documents, and civic access.

Braver Angels inspires and equips Americans to practice courageous citizenship across political differences through skill-building, convening, and collaborative action.

Braver Angels works across all 50 states through workshops, debates, community events, membership recruitment, local alliances, regional leadership, and convention delegates.

Braver Angels claims that participants across program experiences show improved views of the other side and that after 1:1 Conversations 97% say they found common ground.

The organization reports that 75% of participants say they are likely to share what they learned with friends and family.

Their 2024 National Convention gathered nearly 750 people, equally divided between liberals and conservatives plus independents, for three days of debate, problem-solving, and movement-building.
